GROW IN GOD'S WORD
GO WITH THE WORD INTO THE WORLD
MAJ Performance Sunday YOU ARE INVITED to the Teen MAJ performance this Sunday at 11:00. This weekend, 30+ teens (gr 8 and up) came together from 20+ different communities across Minnesota and beyond to learn and perform a Christian performing arts show, participate in activities and grow in their faith in Jesus as their Savior. MAJ uses performing arts as the tool, and "the show" itself can sometimes steal the spotlight and appear to be the focus. But where MAJ really shines is that it draws the participants to Jesus and strengthens their faith. The engaging 45-minute original musical show features a Bible-based and Christ-centered script, Christian contemporary music, high-energy choreography, 30+ performers from 20 different communities across Minnesota & beyond and lots of fun! Join us Sunday for some FREE family entertainment, support these young people in their faith, and we hope it will be a blessing to you as well.
Office Hours For Our Office Administrator Jeannie’s office hours during the summer will be Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Cookies on the patio A long-standing tradition at Mt. Olive is to have a time of fellowship after our Sunday services out on the front patio—and enjoy some cookies too! Please consider signing up to serve treats or join with another family or 2 and do it together. Sign up sheet is on the rolling table in the entryway if you are interested in serving. Today we thank Mark & Julie Gaarder for providing the “cookies on the patio” today.
“Not Me” Presentation…. The Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Fellowship, of our sister church in Pelican Lake, is sponsoring an event called “Not Me! Training-Preparing For Dangerous Encounters” on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. The class will teach students and adults how to recognize, prevent and stop the occurrence of physical and sexual assaults. They will offer the class for three age groups: 15-17 (must be accompanied by parent), ages 18-30, and over 30. They will start at 5:00 pm with a fellowship meal (walking tacos) followed by a devotion. The training class will go from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Register by way of email to email@example.com When registering, be sure to provide your name, your phone number, and what age group you’ll be participating in. The cost is $79.00 per participant, but Immanuel Lutheran is picking up the first $20, so your cost is $59.00 per participant. The $15.00 book, “NOT ME! How to PREPARE for Dangerous Encounters” by Al Horner, is included in the registration fee. Registration is due by July 4, 2021. Registration after that date (if space allows) will be $79.00. Fees will be collected the night of the class—cash or checks only. Your questions can be directed to Bernis Benzer at (763) 682-4895 or to her email address.
Fund Appeal Campaign
In November of 2019, we kicked off our Building Fund Appeal with the theme, "Christ's Love Compels Us".
Back in 2005, our old church was crumbling, falling apart, and in disrepair. The members of Mt. Olive voted to build a new church that was connected to our Pre-K through 8th grade school. By God's grace, we have been very blessed with our new church!
