Mr. Nolan Valus- Principal, 6th-8th Grade Teacher, Coach

As a teacher at Mt. Olive, I am given the privilege and opportunity to train and assist parents in bringing up children in the knowledge and love of Christ. It is such a joy to be able to watch the Lord's little lambs grow and flourish in their lives because of the faith that the Holy Spirit develops and strengthens in their heard through daily exposure and studying of the Bible. Here at Mt. Olive, the other teachers and I have the ability to work closely with our students in our classrooms and keep the focus of Christ in all aspects of our work, both in religion classes and throughout every facet of the day.

As a teaching at Mt. Olive, I have the awesome opportunity to teach God's Word everyday to God's children. Young children are very eager to learn and they soak up so much information. This makes me excited to teach and help them gain an appreciation for God's Word. I am also excited that I get to teach God's Word not only in one part of the day, but throughout the whole day. I am very thankful to God that I get to teach here at Mt. Olive.

What a wonderful opportunity I have to continue the formal education of these precious children at Mt. Olive! It's a privilege and responsibility for which I am grateful. As the oldest of eight siblings, I guess I've always been a "teacher" and am glad that God guided me along the path to be able to continue to teach. Working with the rest of our staff and the parents here at Mt. Olive is also a great blessing!

Katrina Wascher- ECE Director, Preschool Teacher

I graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in May 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. My first call was in May 2013 to open a Preschool in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, where I lived and worked for two years. My husband and I then spent a year living and exploring in California, before settling back down in Minneapolis where I taught at a community preschool for the 2016-2017 school year.

I am delighted to have the privilege of working with the little lambs at Mt. Olive, and partnering with their parents in beginning their lifelong journey in education! I see each child as a competent, capable, unique child of God and do my best to tailor a hands-on curriculum that meets each individual's needs.

My own family consists of myself, my husband Nathan, our very spoiled dog and cat (Izzy and Piper), and our first son whom we are expecting this October--God is good!
